Applications:

E-Type V12 Jaguar (early cars). Engine 7S.7784. This is an OEM later pump converted to fit early cars. It is designed to fit all of the early pipework as a straight replacement without the need to change any mating components. It has the added advantage of the much stronger (later-type) bearing and unitised seal.

This is the genuine Jaguar Original Equipment pump. This means that the pump components have been made to original Jaguar drawings and conform with all material and dimensional specifications. All castings are leak-tested prior to final assembly. The components are assembled to specification (exacting tolerances determined by Jaguar) e.g. pulleys are assembled to the correct height to minimise drive belt wear. Impellers are assembled to the correct height to ensure optimum performance and avoid a potentially disastrous foul condition. Bearings and seals are designed to withstand loads and forces prescribed by Jaguar as a result of exhaustive testing under extreme conditions. Assembly processes use load-monitoring to ensure components will not fail prematurely.

The life of a replacement OEM pump can, however, be adversely affected if the car's cooling system is not maintained. Before fitting a replacement pump, it is highly advisable to flush the cooling system under pressure, to clear accumulated debris within the system which can damage the pump if circulated. After the replacement pump has been fitted, the cooling system should be topped up to the correct level with the prescribed proportion of anti-freeze added. Anti-freeze is essential under all temperature conditions as it contains properties which lubricate the water pump seal. Not only does it prevent the coolant from freezing in extreme cold conditions, but it prevents the coolant from boiling in extreme heat.
